The Portrait Project - 4 ads with photos of local folks who have quit smoking featured in quarter-page ads in the Randolph Herald.
Keeping Our Kids Drug-Free Community Handbook - revised and printed for the Partnership area to be distributed in the fall of 2006.
The "Graduation Brochure" - information on the laws around underage drinking and tips to parents on how to keep their kids safe during graduation party time. Mailed to parents of seniors at the high school in May 2005 and 2006.
Dear Dawn/Ask Amy column - answers to real questions from real people around substance use and abuse and more. Published bi-weekly in the Randolph Herald.
2005 4th of July Parade Float
Booth at Randolph's 4th of July parade - Display in the Vendor Area featuring our "Alcopops Take the Challenge!" display. We had informational brochures and Partnership pens on hand. 2006-2007
"Ghost Out" Day - event for Alcohol Awareness Month in April, 2005 held at the high school. Commemorated the teens that die every half hour in this country from alcohol-related car crashes.
Three Towns - One Book - 2-day residency in February, 2006 with Doug Wilhelm, author of The Revealers, a book for middle school youth about bullying. Funded by a BEST grant and the Randolph Rotary.
"Parents - the Anti-Drug" print ad campaign - 10 businesses underwrote the cost of quarter-page ads published in the Randolph Herald. Fall 2005.
Appreciation Breakfast - a thank you breakfast for sponsors of the "Parents - the Anti-Drug" print ad campaign. Underwritten by The Three Stallion Inn.
Message Cards at Basketball Games - prevention messages printed on cards with our name and logo, handed out at high school basketball games. Messages drawn out of the hat and a prize given to every holder of that message. Spring, 2006.
Alcohol Awareness Month Community Forum - 27 people attended a Forum on underage drinking. April, 2006.
Alcohol Awareness Month, April 2007 - In 2007, the Partnership helped bring a break-dance troupe to the high school. Dancers told stories about healthy choices they made in their lives as part of the performance. They also visited classes during the rest of the day, answered questions and dialogued with the students.
Data Collection Project - hired Betsy Woodman with a grant from ADAP (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program) to collect, organize and present a wide range of data on our three communities. Presented to the Partnership in May, 2006. Will be used for grant proposals and to inform the community.
Partnerships with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the Randolph Police Department and the Boys and Girls Club to support START (Stop Teen Alcohol Risk Team) and to send partnership member to a law enforcement convention in Washington, D.C. Fall, 2005 and 2006.
Received our first grant
The grant, received from the Vermont Department of Health, will allow the Partnership to hire a coordinator and continue our coalition capacity-building work. May, 2007.
"E-Parenting: Keeping Our Kids Safe on the Internet" Event
Appearance by nationally-known author Sharon Cindrich, who presented an afternoon session for teachers at Randolph Union High School and for parents in the evening. Co-sponsored with the RUHS Community School Organization. November, 2007
